AGONY OF RELEASE: THE SEQUEL
Twice ain’t always nice, especially when we’re talking about getting released from AVAIL for the second time in less than a week. That’s right, I was in the top (of possibly eight candidates) group again and then POOF I was released from another acting gig. Stinks.
The alarming thing is that we are now well into the third month of the year and I have not booked one acting gig- first quarter of the year is almost behind us. That’s a whole bunch of catching up to do by December 31st in order to hit the SAG pension credit minimum (about $20 G’s) and to qualify for Health & Pension (minimum of $17 G’s for the lower level of insurance).
But I’m told by some casting directors that I am at the tip of the spear. That (on average) of the 38 actors called in for a role that I have been consistently at the top of the heap now twice in a row. Ain’t no second place out here. Audition tomorrow so we’ll see what I can do this time. The pursuit continues. Let’s keep it rolling.
