On AVAIL for Hyundai. What’s “AVAIL”? In casting for commercials you go on the first audition, you move on to the callback, and then you and a few (sometimes up to 8) people are put on AVAIL for the role. It means that you (and possibly 8 other people) are being strongly considered for the role so don’t leave town, don’t get a haircut, and don’t plan on doing anything until the day of production comes and goes. You’re in limbo and it stinks. It’s better than not being on AVAIL because you still have a chance; however, in 2016 I was placed on AVAIL and released eight times in a row. But I’m still celebrating, being put on AVAIL more often than not means that you are performing at the top of your game…I think…maybe it’s just dumb luck? Nah, it’s a good thing.

So now I wait. There’s a fitting on Monday so if I don’t get an official booking notice by end of business on Friday I can consider myself released and look forward to the next one. So we’ll see.
